Founded by experienced entrepreneur Alex Stanford in January of 2016, Sunway Landscape Services was initially known as LawnJax. We became a leader in the Northeast Florida market by delivering superior customer satisfaction through service quality, reliability and professionalism as the cornerstones of the business.
Sunway Landscape Services hired and trained what became the best team in the area by focusing on employing people with character, integrity and a strong work-ethic. To retain this team we became the market-leader in compensation packages including being the smallest landscaping company in the industry to offer health, vision and dental insurance to all of the full-time employees in addition to paid time off and paid holidays. Sunway Landscape Services believes that it is only as good as the folks on the team and treats the entire company as part of the family.

Owner & Founder Alex Stanford began a small landscape maintenance operation in Florida during high school. The teenage gig quickly outgrew him, reaching 50+ clients due to word of mouth spreading about the consistency of the service reliability and quality, and he begins partnering with friends.
Alex relocates out of Florida and discontinues landscape servicing while pursuing college education, eventually establishing several successful businesses and working as both an information technology professional and cybersecurity leader in corporate America.
Alex begins planning to use his combination of business and information technology experience to revolutionize the $105.1 billion dollar landscaping industry without forgetting how his operation grew so quickly back in 2004, through word of mouth about the reliability and quality.
In January of 2016 Alex launches LawnJax in sunny Jacksonville, Florida which begins growing at an astonishing pace by May of 2016, far exceeding his weekend availability, and LawnJax begins hiring staff.
Late in 2017 Alex suffers an unrelated traumatic brain injury due to a previously unknown mass in his brain that lands him in a coma for nearly 5 days. His mother Sue, a former operations manager in corporate America, jumps into the business and begins managing the staff and quickly learning the business. Sue is offered a full-time job as General Manager of LawnJax which officially becomes a family owned and operated business.
Alex’s wife Morgan joins the business as Operations Manager, adding her customer service, marketing, people management and bookkeeping experience. LawnJax begins offering health, dental and vision insurance to all full-time employees.
Alex returns to a more active role in the business and LawnJax rebrands to Sunway Landscape Services with no change in ownership, management or leadership. Sunway Landscape Services begins offering robust paid time off and 10 paid holidays to all full-time employees.
